 This San Diego newspaper article, circa mid 1960s to 1969, mentions a mechanical music collector by the name of Wayne Gilbert, a machine shop owner who lived in El Cajon, California. The instrument, a Wurlitzer "military" band organ of unknown model, was quite an attraction at the "gala art celebration." The band organ , reportedly built in 1910, was said to be kept in good repair by Ray Thomas, son-in-law and apprentice to Herbert Vincent. |
