Hupfeld Helios III/39 Orchestrion

The large scale bass pipework in the Helios Orchestrion's left side-wing.

The three large scale 12-note bass pipe ranks located in the left-hand side-wing, as viewed from the left-hand side on the instrument (with the outer side-wing access panels removed). The three ranks are (front/left to rear/right) bass posaune (tapered wood horn/trombone), bass violoncello (wood) and bass viola (wood).

The opposite side-wing (not pictured) contains the orchestra bells, snare drum, bass drum and the cymbal striker assembly (the actual crash cymbal is located in the main chassis).
