The "E" violin is on the right; the "A" violin at center; and the "D" violin at left. Note the visible lower portion of the circular horsehair bowing mechanism, which crosses each violin near its center.

In the Phonoliszt-Violina the violins pivot forward into the bow on adjustable height bearings, located at the bottom (at the end of the violin's scroll). Just above the pivot bearings are the thumb-screw and worm-gear operated tuning pins.
