Catalogue Illustration of a
Philipps Paganini Modell 10a Orchestra
(for use in Motion Picture Theaters)

1911-12 catalogue illustration of a Philipps "Duplex" Paganini Modell 10a Violin Orchestra for cinema use.

This compact Paganini Violin Orchestra was intended for use in motion picture theaters, and has a low profile so that it can sit conveniently in an orchestra pit beneath the movie screen, while providing an uninterrupted source of refined music, but without being otherwise obvious. It is fitted with a Duplex Revolver-Mechanik (two side-by-side automatic six-station roll-changers). The instrumentation consists of piano, violin pipes and a 44-note harmonium. Like the big Paganini orchestrions it can play either Philipps Paganini (P.P.) rolls, or, if piano only music is desired, Philipps Duca (P.D.) rolls can be used.
