Catalogue Illustration of a Philipps
Pianella Model 3 Paganini Geigen Piano

Circa 1912 catalogue illustration of a Philipps Pianella Paganini Geigen Piano, Model 3.

Circa 1912 catalogue illustration. Although some purists may like to argue that this particular Paganini model should not properly ever be termed an orchestrion, having only a piano, harmonium, violin, and flageolet pipes, Philipps nevertheless did often designate it as such. Certainly, though, the larger Paganini instruments with a full orchestral range of voices and extensive trapwork were true orchestrions.
