Circa 1912 catalogue illustration. Although some purists may like to argue that this particular Paganini model should not properly ever be termed an orchestrion, having only a piano, harmonium, violin, and flageolet pipes, Philipps nevertheless did often designate it as such. Certainly, though, the larger Paganini instruments with a full orchestral range of voices and extensive trapwork were true orchestrions. |
