Although some purists may argue that this particular style Paganini should not properly ever be termed an orchestrion, having only a piano, harmonium and violin pipes, Philipps nevertheless did often designated it as such. Certainly, though, the larger Paganini instruments, with a full orchestral range of voices and extensive trapwork, were true orchestrions. |
