In the smaller PianOrchestras, where Wurlitzer supplied its own brand of drum mechanisms, note that the bass drum and cymbal each have their own separate striking actions, although tubed together to act as one. Philipps' actions, on the other hand, combined the bass drum and ride cymbal beaters into a single mechanical unit, with a provision for loud and soft expression.
