According to Ron Cappel, who restored the little PianOrchestra,
cut-outs for the round leather belts that operated an animated scene,
along with other definite clues, were still visible, indicating
that the current art glass panel replaced the originally installed
and more troublesome animated scene. Noting the quality and style
of the art-glass, which is consistent with glass used by Wurlitzer
during the life-cycle years of this instrument, it is probable that
the Wurlitzer factory installed the art glass panel when the machine
was refurbished for re-sale circa 1919.
