Catalogue Illustration of a
Welte Style 5 Concert Orchestrion

This catalogue illustration (which is basically identical to the Welte style 6, except for a slight difference in size) was probably taken sometime during the mid to late 1890s. It is indicative of the ornately stunning architectural beauty that was commonplace with all Welte Cottage and Concert Orchestrions built prior to 1910-12. Later Cottage and Concert Orchestrions had cases of a relatively simple design, leaving forever behind the deliciously decorated cases that had previously been the hallmark of Welte artistry.
