Clayton, the Henry Clay Frick estate in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This magnificent residence houses the earliest Welte orchestrion still in its original home. The Welte, No. 57, built in 1893, is a Style 6 Concert Orchestrion. Originally installed in the front parlor, it was moved in 1899 to the enclosed porch area where it spoke through a window into the house.

Welte Style 6 Concert Orchestrion, No. 57. This spectacular instrument, installed in 1893, is roll operated and was originally weight driven by dual weight motors, but electrified within the first year. The Frick records indicate that Emil Welte returned again in 1904 to replace the electric motor.
