Peerless Arcadian Orchestrion—Seybold Style. The newly redesigned Seybold built Wisteria was introduced in 1914, and played 20,000 Series rewind “O” rolls. Instrumentation in the late style case was similar to the earlier Arcadian, and consisted of a full 88-note piano (played by 66 notes in the roll plus bass and treble octave-couplers), a rank of 32 wooden violin pipes and/or a rank of 32 wooden flute pipes, snare drum, bass drum, tympani effect, cymbal, triangle, and a set of castanets. The art glass in this Seybold built piano is unique, and uses a metal overlay to form a forest of trees of varying height that stand immediately in front of the opalescent art glass panels, which are lighted from behind while the instrument plays.
