Page #1 from the J. W. Whitlock and Company's "Music Rolls Record" ledger. Tune titles are listed on the left side of the page; composer/royalty names on the right side. This page shows the first two harp rolls to be arranged and cut by Whitlock. Rolls #1 through #30 were eight tune rolls, with one exception, roll #10 has only six tunes listed. All rolls beginning with roll #31 were standardized six tune rolls.

Page #47 from the J. W. Whitlock and Company's "Music Rolls Record" ledger, showing the entries for rolls #93 and #94. This page is the transition point from handwritten pages to those using a Wurlitzer label to list the tunes and composer information.

Page #61 from the J. W. Whitlock and Company's "Music Rolls Record" ledger, showing the entries for rolls #121, #122, and #123. Notice that the space for roll #122 is blank, with a square drawn in to represent where the Wurlitzer label should have been. It is unknown why this one label is missing from the ledger, but it is presumed that roll #122 was arranged, cut and distributed by Wurlitzer, because the master roll for #122, along with others, still exists to this day. Unfortunately no master rolls have any tune or composer data written on them; only the roll number.
