Wurlitzer catalogue illustration, circa 1910-1911. Sold by Wurlitzer, and made by Philipps, this Pianella Model 32 orchestrion, alternately known as the Model Cäecilia, was the namesake of the large P.C. series of orchestrions sold by Wurlitzer. This Wurlitzer catalog page also shows pricing. The price for a Wurlitzer Style 32 Concert PianOrchestra was $3,800 when equipped with only a single roll frame (for operation by an attendant who both selected and changed music rolls), and $4,000 for an instrument equipped with an automatic roll changer, in this instance it probably was the common six-station model.
The case design shown here supplanted the earlier one of circa 1906 (see the early Style 32 Concert PianOrchestra from Green Bay, Wisconsin, also on this website) and become the standard case for the Style 32 Concert PianOrchestras. |
